My heart goes out to all of the people in Northern California who had to evacuate their homes and businesses in a hurry and leave not knowing if there would be anything to return to. Others are sitting with anxiety waiting and worrying about whether the fire will reach their area. Some are grieving their loss of everything they had …including some lives, pets and more. Their trauma is real. They have suffered beyond imagination the last few days and it does not seem to be letting up. The winds and the fires continue to devastate more property and lives.
I recently took a trip to the wine country to Napa, Sonoma, and Calistoga. I visited lovely towns and saw beautiful vineyards, mountains, forests and met friendly local people. My journey took me all over northern California to the redwood forest, to Mendocino on the coast and all the way to Crescent City near the Oregon border. The vision of that same land I would not recognize it now. What a tragedy!
When I lived in Southern California I felt the fear of my house being surrounded by fire. There was no road for me to take to leave that was safe. I sat there numb and in prayer and meditation until it was only smoke and ashes in the air and I was safe. That is not something you take lightly or forget easily.
I realize a great cleansing is taking place on this earth now and we all can be subject to Nature’s wrath of the way we have treated our precious Gaia. A part of raising the consciousness is awareness and we are getting our eyes opened.
