This is a heartfelt message from my good friend Susan Ordona:

A few days ago, one of the strongest typhoon in recorded history hit and devastated the province of Leyte.
As the big relief organizations are not able to reach Abuyog yet, the Abuyognons from Manila, USA and other countries have taken it upon ourselves to help out as much as we can with the limited resources we have. Without food, water, medicines and basic necessities, our town people are in a very tough survival situation.
We have to do something with utmost urgency as lives are at stake.

The generosity and kindness of the Abuyognons and friends are so evident when everyone just gives cash and checks so our groups in the Philippines could start buying supplies and hand deliver these to the people of Abuyog.

It is a big challenge to get those supplies to our town because of the road conditions, some are non-existent and some are barely passable and of course the dangers along the way.?Even with those hurdles, the determination to get to Abuyog is there.

I have been receiving private messages and telephone calls from people wanting to help and donate, so I created this site to make it easier for people to do so.?This is also for others who want to donate to our cause, no amount is too little…every little bit helps.

100% of all your donations will go to the people of Abuyog….for their immediate needs and beyond that….the rebuilding process as well.

This devastation of Tacloban is horrible.?My hometown is about 50 miles south of Tacloban and was also affected along with the other towns along the road way.?Using hashtag?#Tacloban?#Abuyog?#TyphoonHaiyan really helped us get a streamline of information about a those keywords with the hashtags.

Going to Paris for business and pleasure recently was a great idea. ?October is off season and most of the tourists are gone. Looking out my window I am reminded I am in Paris. I love the architecture and the quaint neighborhoods. ?Not fond of looking straight down to the street although staying on the top floors is the best for views. ?The smells of the neighborhood consisted of fresh bagettes, cigarettes, rain, dry fall leaves, and dog doo on the sidewalk. Fresh caffe au lait was a welcome smell in the early hours.

Sainte Chapelle is a great example of High Gothic architecture. ?This chapel was built between 1242-1248 in accordance of the wishes of King Louis IX. ?It was built to house the relics of the Passion of Christ. ?It has a splendid upper chapel that was used for the royals and a lower chapel that is also remarkable. ?The photo is taken in the upper chapel with amazing 15 stained glass windows that tell “stories”. ?This chapel was a part of the Palais de la Cite which was the residence of the royals from the 10th to the 14th centuries. ?This chapel is being restored so the smells were of dust and scaffolding, metal and paint smells.

The line at the Louvre museum on Sunday morning was not as long as I thought it may be for this popular day. ?It was a cool windy overcast day so it was a perfect day for the Louvre. ?You can easily spend one whole day here. ?I especially love the old masters paintings and the Napoleon III apartments. ?This is a room from Napoleon III’s apartment. ?Love the chandelier and the gold gild on the walls, doors, and every surface imaginable. ?Very impressive when you are standing in this luxury. ?The smells at the Louvre consisted of old, dusty, patina finishes, tapestry, and worn leather.

I also went to the Palace of Versailles, boutiques, perfume boutiques, the Tuileries Gardens in all of their fall splendor, and many rues too many to name. This statue of Napoleon on his horse is at the entrance to the Palace of Versailles. ?The Metro and sidewalk cafes contain many smells of ?cheese, meat, wine, caffe, and chocolate. ?Sweet tarts and pastries were everywhere. Laduree macaroons tempted me more than once. ?If I erased the cigarette, cigar smoke and the overheated people in the Metro trains…it would be a pleasant experience. ?The smells of rain approaching and leaves falling added to the ambience.

Years ago I created the French Collection and Royal Collection after having been in France. ?I feel a new collection coming in! Stay tuned!

Where did the Summer go? ? Autumn is one week away and it is time to put away the Citrus and Citrus Floral fragrances. Now we must ?reach deeper into the rich amber?(Venus Amber comes to mind) woods, incense??(Timeless) and greens?(Vert). ?Chypre?(Intimacy) and all of the really intense fragrances become appropriate now!

The crowds in Southern California have left the beach. ?So it is time to leave the soft fragrances behind also. ?I now reach for the floral orientals, the orientals and the musky rich perfumes. ?There are some great choices in the Royal Collection. You can purchase samples to try and mix and match them. ?It is great fun. The More Life Collection and the Limited Collection offer great choices for fall.
