Blooming Gardenia flowers at JoAnne Bassett’s patio means, I will be creating gardenia tincture in organic grape alcohol from wine grapes for eau de perfumes, gardenia infusion and maceration into organic jojoba oil for natural perfumes, and gardenia powder enfleurage into body powder. ?It is so fragrant when I walk out onto the deck with the creamy smell of gardenia. ?I have several varieties and some of them are brand new plants.

One of my natural botanical fragrances I use the gardenia in is Madame Pompadour?from the Royal Collection. It is a luxury to experience the exquisite fragrance of 39 different essential oils, botanicals, and absolutes that are co mingled in this luscious romantic natural perfume. ?I love that fragrance and so do my clients. The Fragrant Flight that is like a wine tasting experiencing and discussing the essential oil notes. We go from light eau de parfums to heavy eau de parfums. It is usually 30 to 45 minutes and we experience 9 different fragrances.? The class is $50 per person.? A Discovery Kit containing all 9 fragrances in 1 ml sample sizes will be given to each student after the class.? This Discovery Sample Kit will be for feminine fragrances. I also offer classes for men only with masculine fragrances.? The cost of the kit will be more expensive if purchased outside of the class.? 1 ml samples are from $5 to $7 each. I went to the Rose Festival on Sunday, May 25. What a delightful event! Floral artist Alison Franchi and make-up artist Jennifer Aspinall turned a model into a living piece of art decorated with roses, body paint and jewels. An homage to the gardens at Versailles. What a fabulous job! ?This model would fit right in with my?Royal Collection?of natural perfumes.

I was so enchanted with the rose garden, the California native gardens, the tall oaks, the rhodies and camelias blooming that I forgot to take photos. The natural perfume of the roses in the 80 degree afternoon sun was amazing. ?The Boddy house was also interesting and the hike through the forest to get there was great.
