In order to use up some of these precious materials I have created the Private Reserve Collection of natural perfumes.  There are 6 extraordinary natural perfumes in this collection with a wide range of beautiful materials.  Each of these materials has its own story and version of how rare they are.  I am not going to write a long explanation regarding these materials. Most are no longer available and what is being sold on the market is often synthetic or adulterated.

1. Orris Root – iris – iris pallida or iris germanica.  The roots of the iris are dried for 3 years and then processed.  When using this material in a perfume it adds a powdery note. It has been used since Catherine de Medici.
2. Pink Lotus in Oman Frankincense – This sacred pink lotus is one of my favorites.  This is my pink lotus hydro distilled essential oil from India from 2000. I added some Oman hydro distilled frankincense 2000 to ground it. Pink Lotus hydro distilled essential oil is ethereal and will evaporate.  I charge 1 ml – 30 drops for $350 for this perfume material. This is not the pink lotus absolute sold today… it is a distilled oil with a very high energy that is  no longer produced.
3. Boronia – A flower from Australia that has a deep, exotic aroma.. it is multi faceted.
4. Osmanthus – A creamy white flower native to Asia. To most noses it smells of tea and fruit.  It is much more exotic than that to my nose.
5. Night Blooming Jasmine – The botanical name is Cestrum nocturnum, the lady of the night is not a jasmine at all.  These small flowers bloom only at night in tropical regions -West Indies and Asia mostly. Very exotic smell.  The only oil I have seen of this flower in the market is synthetic.  This one does come from real flowers…not the laboratory.
6. Champa Leaf – Magnolia – This is a very precious material and I only have a small amount left. This came from Asia years ago.  It is real and smells like magnolia.  Other materials on the market are synthetic.
