Fresh Gardenia Flowers – A Raw Material
May 30th, 2011 by JoAnne BassettI love gardenias.? In San Francisco they sell gardenia corsages on the street corners.? I went to an aromatherapy conference many years ago and wore one.? They stay fragrant all day.
Now that I grow gardenias in my garden I am able to use them in my natural perfumes.? Several varieties offer enough gardenia petals to create the perfect gardenia scent for my 100% natural fragrances.
I pick them in the morning and tincture in alcohol and macerate the blooms.?? Months later I am able to use this tincture or maceration in Madame Pompadour or other fragrances.? It is a favorite raw material for my Custom Bespoke Parfums.
Smell the rich and creamy fragrance of the gardenia blossom ..take in the soft, honey smell of the gardenia.? The synthetic gardenia scents have nothing on this natural scent.? Try the real thing…your nose approves.
