Who makes your perfumes
I – JoAnne Bassett hand blend small batches of natural perfumes in my studio. I do the whole process from design, creating the perfume, maturing, filtering, bottling, and packaging. Everything is done by hand within our own botanical fragrance house based in Texas. We sell our perfumes wholesale and to distributors in 1 ml sample sizes to kilo’s. Please inquire for pricing.
How long do natural perfumes last
Since they don’t contain any of the synthetic chemical extenders found in commercial perfumes, natural perfumes will last about six hours on the body. Some people with very dry skin or different chemistry make only get a few hours on the skin. Everyone is different. Botanical perfumes are very complex and will evolve from the top notes, to the middle notes, to the base notes. During this time the perfume will evolve on your skin. Your body chemistry and skin type will determine how long they last on your skin. The fragrance is not aggressive and will stay within a few feet of your body.
I suggest you reapply your scent during the day. I have travel sprays available that are portable and unbreakable so you can take your scent with you to freshen up. Also layering my fragrances help with longevity.
How do I make the scent last longer
If you have dry skin the scent will not last as long as on moist skin. I suggest you apply my unscented moisturizing lotion or luxury creme to your body. Then apply your natural fragrance. Also reapply your fragrance during the day or evening.
Why do natural perfumes cost so much
I use rare, vintage, and 100% natural botanicals. I use essential oils, absolutes, botanicals, macerations, and tinctures that I make from my own flowers and plants. Some of these essences cost up to $17,000 a kilo.
In the book “Perfumes The Guide” by Luca Turin and Tania Sanchez on page 31 I quote: “The proportion of man-made to natural varies: by weight, synthetics usually make up more than 90 percent of fragrance; by cost, the proportion is lower because naturals are expensive. A typical synthetic may cost $50 per kilogram, a typical natural at least $500 per kilo, with many naturals reaching ten or a hundred times that.
What if I have allergies or skin sensitivity
I have found in over 20 years is that what most people are allergic or sensitive to are the synthetic chemicals found in mixed media and commercial perfumes. I myself had to stop wearing commercial perfumes after having allergic reactions and migraine headaches for 2 days. They were caused by the synthetic chemicals in the fragrances.
As with any cosmetic, it is wise to patch-test products for sensitivities or allergies before using them. If you have any concern about using a particular product, we advise you to consult with your doctor or a professional prior to use.

A typical synthetic may cost $50 per kilogram, a typical natural at least $500 per kilo, with many naturals reaching ten or a hundred times that.
Are your botanical perfumes or natural perfumes organic?
Some of the botanicals and essential oils are organic, and certified organic. Some of the essential oils are wild crafted. Using a base of organic grape alcohol from wine grapes in the eau de toilettes and eau de parfums and organic jojoba oil for the parfum they are considered organic due to the high percentage of materials that are organic.
